WooHoo!
My friend gave us tickets to the OSU basketball game tonight. Woo Hoo!! I'll be one of the crazies dressed all in orange. It is a sold out game! We are going to eat at Eskimo Joe's beforehand. Not that I'm excited or anything. ;)

Recipe Mania
This is quite funny for a girl who doesn't cook. I was trying to dig out a recipe for broccoli cheese casserole for a friend. As I was digging through little pieces of paper and index cards all stuffed in a cabinet, I decided it was time to get those recipes organized. I've reasoned to myself that maybe if my recipes are organized, I'll cook more. Anyway, I'm sitting here with all those cards and little pieces of paper and I'm typing them into Word. I'm then going to print them all out, 3 hole punch them and put them in a notebook. Wait, maybe it would be better to slide them into page protectors. That's an even better idea! I'll keep you posted on the cooking situation around here. Oh, and I'll write more about Christmas and put up pics later.

Help!
Older son has been asking for a nerf missile launcher for months. Insisted this is what he was asking for. We saw Santa the other night at the Orr Family Farm (that's a whole other story) and older son promptly sat on Santa's lap and asked for Tekno the Robotic Puppy and launched into all the things the puppy could do. What?! A robotic puppy! You've got to be kidding me! So I start looking for the puppy today. It is nowhere to be found. Apparently it is the toy of 2006, which means about the first of December they started advertising the heck out of the thing. So if anyone sees Tekno hide him on the shelf or pick him up for me and I'll pay you back. BTW, I'm not willing to pay $86.00 for one or I could get it on ebay. LOL! I think the list price is $49.99. Looks like older son will be getting his original wish this year instead of his new wish. Oh well....

What I'm Doing These Days
- Listening to 0 by Damien Rice
- Reading - The Black Echo by Michael Connelly (First book in the Harry Bosch series) Entertainment Weekly (My new subscription just started. If my husband finds out there is another magazine coming to his house, he will croak!)
- Watching - Just finished Lost Season 1 (loaner from Keeks) and need to start Season 2, but have been too cheap to buy it for myself and keep hoping someone will loan it to me. I also love to watch Grey's Anatomy, but it has gone to reruns. I hate when they do that in the middle of the season.
- Making slideshows instead of addressing Christmas cards

Downtown
Last night, my book club went out to dinner at a new restaurant called Soleil located in the newly redone Colcord Hotel. The Colcord was an office building for years and was newly renovated to a 108 room hotel. All I have to say is WOW! The restaurant was delicious (and pricey). The decor is really neat. As we were leaving, one of my friends asked if we could see one of the rooms. The staff quickly accomodated us and showed us three rooms including the Rock and Roll Star Suite. WOW!! This suite was unbelievable. Its view was perfect, overlooking the Christmas lights at the Myriad Gardens. It was about 1200 square foot and decorated in a contemporary fashion. Very nice! Wish I could afford to stay there. ;) Anyway, for you folks in OKC, this is a nice place to spend an evening and a great place to recommend to out-of-town friends. Very impressive! As one of my friends said, "No one will believe this is Oklahoma City!" Not that there's anything wrong with Oklahoma City. It just seems that a lot of people think we still live in teepees and that it is all farm land. We are proud of our Native American culture and do have a lot of farmland, but most people don't realize that Oklahoma City also has lots of great restaurants and entertainment places. Our downtown has been totally revitalized! I love Oklahoma City and am proud to call it home.
